Herb: Hops
HOPS
When we say Hops we usually think of beer. However, Hops is also a beneficial herb that I use in quite a few of my herbal tea blends. It is what is termed a ‘bitter’ agent, and as with all bitters it is a good digestive tonic. Its main use is as a nervine and hormonal agent. I also use it for indigestion due to stress or low stomach acid (often secondary to stress). Hops can also be used for menstrual-cycle abnormalities such as menopausal insomnia and hot flashes. Anxiety that leads to indigestion, cramping and insomnia is a good indicator for its use too.
I add hops to my ‘Sleepy-T’, ‘De-stress-T’ and ‘Digest-T’ blends.
